A week-by-week timeline for Indian wedding invitations — save the date, the main invitation, reminders and the thank-you.
Send the invitation too early and people forget; too late and they have already made plans. Here is a simple timeline that works for most Indian weddings.
1. Four to six months before
Send a save the date if guests need to travel — a destination wedding, or a winter wedding when flights fill up.
2. Eight weeks before
The main invitation to close family, so elders can plan and book tickets.
3. Four to six weeks before
The invitation to friends and colleagues. This is when most WhatsApp invitations go out.
4. Two weeks before
Check your RSVPs. Send a gentle note to anyone who hasn't replied:

5. One week before
A reminder with the venue map and timings.
